AMICIE -   

Association of Maritime International Commercial Interests & Expertise - has been set up as a THINK TANK, as there is no such body bringing together varied disciplines that have evolved over half a millennium of marine adventures and trade, now globalised by Info Tech. It will serve and promote the purpose of education, continuous professional development (CPD) and practice of vocation at all levels amongst those involved at all levels, as well as all professions related with the broad spectrum of shipping. 

Providing a common platform to senior shipping & logistics professionals who want to contribute something back to the industry (that we have benefited from), what we can with our experience and expertise, by imparting knowledge, by brainstorming on and guiding legislation and by networking internationally, so as to promote professionalism, trade, economics and growth for greater common good.

MADRASS –Maritime Arbitration, Dispute Resolution and Services is to be registered as an Alternate Dispute Resolution Centre (ADR) headquartered in Chennai with focus on Marine, Trade and entire Transport & Logistics Sector including Road, Rail, Waterborne, Air and Sea-Air segments, their Insurance etc. 

It will cover Conciliation, Mediation, Med-Arb, Arbitration etc as evolved and practiced, expressly to avoid litigation. Quick and low cost resolution starting with TIFF -at dispute starting stage- and Peer Review on Award to clarify and avoid litigation are novel ideas to be offered.

MADRAS services is to be an offshoot of AMICIE with primary membership of AMICIE as the first step, as the maritime industry is highly specialised and requires its own commercial men to assimilate and resolve disputes within/ connected with it. 

Hence these timely efforts to stay ahead and in line with changing trade law scenario.

INMARSOL -International Marine Solutions provider –as a stand alone but linked to AMICIE membership- is being formed to promote entrepreneurship amongst the trade participants and mariners. It will cater to all sectors ranging from planning, strategies, technology, design, manufacture, production, servicing…down to recycling, setting high standards and probity. 

On joining INMARSOL as Members those interested in investing and others taking active part as ‘lead investors’ will be brought together after background check. Limited Liability Partnerships can be formed by groups to take ideas forward through entrepreneurship in start-ups. 

INMARSOL will, apart from launching and facilitating, enable raise funds and maintain a holding registry, allowing trading stocks within the community for those who want to exit. 

Through INMARSOL, we seek to provide avenues, facilitate and encourage entrepreneurship in various segments of the maritime  trade.
